| You often see music desks which have been patched. Match-sticks or paddlepop-stick jammed into the decayed screw holes. Year after year the screws fall out, sometimes into the piano action. Here I routed out the rose-wood and glued in sprice inserts. The spruce is tougher than rosewood and the screw-holes were carefully tapered to ensure a very firm fit. This repair will not come undone. Time spent: 5:30 hours. |
